Privacy Policy

Murekka is an iOS app that helps you turn your own photos into aesthetic, story-like edits with handwritten notes and doodle details. This policy explains what information is processed when you use the app.

Information Murekka Processes

When you create an edit, the app sends the selected photo, your optional creative prompt, your app language, and an anonymous app user identifier to the Murekka backend. The backend uses this information only to generate the requested image.

The app also stores an anonymous app user identifier on your device so subscriptions can be restored and linked to the correct RevenueCat customer record. This identifier is not your name, email address, or Apple ID.

Photos and Generated Images

Original photos are uploaded only when you choose to create an edit. The backend processes uploads in memory and does not intentionally store original uploads. The generated image is returned to the app. If you keep creation history enabled by using the app normally, generated images and basic creation metadata are stored locally on your device.

You can save generated images to your Photos library or share them through iOS share options. Those actions are controlled by you and by Apple's system permissions.

Subscriptions and Purchases

Murekka uses RevenueCat to manage subscription status, purchase restoration, and entitlement checks. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Murekka does not receive your full payment card details.

Service Providers

Murekka uses service providers to operate the app, including backend hosting, OpenAI image generation, RevenueCat subscription management, and Apple App Store services. These providers process information as needed to provide their services to Murekka.

Retention

Original uploads are processed transiently by the backend. Generated images saved in the app history remain on your device until you delete them or clear history in the app. Subscription records are retained by RevenueCat and Apple according to their service and legal requirements.

Your Choices

You can choose not to upload a photo by not creating an edit. You can clear local creation history from Settings inside the app. You can manage or cancel subscriptions from your Apple ID subscription settings.

Children

Murekka is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact support.
